Common Diseases Treatment For Succulents

Mealybugs

Tiny, fuzzy white substances crawling on the stems of the plant can generally be seen. If not treated early, they can spread and affect other parts of the succulent, eventually causing the plant to die. To avoid this mealybug problem, keep the planting area dry, clean, and free of rotting leaves or flowers.
 

Treatment of mealybugs

1. Problematic and healthy plants need to be isolated first.
2. Take the plant in question out of the pot and rinse it under strong running water, then wash the pot with soapy water. Replant with new soil.
3. Spray infected plants with alcohol, and finally check regularly every three weeks for mealybugs.

Red spider mite

It's a tiny red mite that leaves what resembles a spider's web on plants. If left untreated, it will eat off the outer layers of the succulent, rendering the plant unable to survive.
 

Treatment of red spider mites

1. Infected plants need to be quarantined immediately and other healthy plants need to be checked with a magnifying glass for signs of red spider mites.
2. You can try to water the succulents more.
3. Buy some acaricide and spray it on the succulents for a few days. Check for any red mites remaining, then spray again once a week as a preventative measure.
4. Remember not to plant the plant in a place with direct sunlight after taking the treatment measures.
 

Rot

When succulents suffer from fungal damage or overwatering causes the rhizomes to rot. Rot usually starts upwards from the roots, so when you notice any noticeable changes in the plant, it may not be possible to save it.
 

Rotten Control

1. If only a small area shows signs of rotting, cut off all rotting parts immediately to prevent the spread.
2. Avoid planting the body of succulents too close to the soil to prevent the leaves from absorbing excess water from the soil and causing the leaves to rot.
3. Improve ventilation and watering habits.
